Yet another Space School fancharacter!
Bridget is a trans girl Aerthling.
Born in Ireland, Bridget's parents were refugees from Aerth. Bridget's mother also has "undersirably" colored wings and hair, so she and her husband fled to Earth after discovering she was pregnant, vowing to never let her child grow up as a second-class citizen.
Unlike her parents, Bridget has an Irish accent and doesn't speak the language of Aerth very well. Bridget is also rather devoutly Irish Catholic, another trait she doesn't share with her parents, and one she is very reluctant to actually talk about (imagine all the "but you're an alien" comments and the "you look like an angel" remarks). Of course, Catholicism has changed drastically over the centuries as well.
Bridget is pretty much the poster child for Aerthling rights activism and equal opportunity. She has led multiple high-profile peaceful demonstrations calling for the protection of vulnerable citizens of Aerth and the abolition of segregation within her species. Some of them were very effective. This pretty much earned her a permanent ban from ever visiting Aerth again (the official reason was "disturbing the peace"), but also caught the attention of the Federation, and she was offered a Space School scolarship for her humanitarian work as well as extensive knowledge in history and communications. She is currently also on the school newspaper staff.
Bridget's personality is bubbly and optimistic. She thoroughly believes all beings are basically good, and that everyone deserves a chance to shine. She is generally very cheerful, though sometimes this is a defense mechanism for facing obstacles in her life. Bridget is secretly boy-crazed, but she'll never openly admit this.
Bridget's best friend is Orggellia, who finds Bridget very fun but also rather annoying.
