"Stop following me, woman!" Ned shouted back at Amarande.
"But I NEED to know!" she replied as he walked away. Running back towards him, she stopped beside him and leaned over, out of breath. "What if I made a deal with you?"
"Hmm... alright... I'll tell you who your father is if you'll work in my lab for century or two."
"What?!"
"That's the deal, take it or leave it... Garrett refuses to help out in the lab, and I'm currently overworked... pfft... stupid mortals, always shooting DNA at each other out of various body parts... Of course, I would provide you with all the machines you'd ever need to eat."
"Mmm... I dunno..."
"You have ten seconds to decide."
"ALRIGHT! I'll work for you... but only if you'll tell me who my dad is..."
"So... do we have a deal?"
"...Deal."
They shook hands, and as they did so an iron cuff attached to a shimmering, golden chain appeared around Amarande's hand. "What the..."
Ned grinned evilly. "You belong to ME, for now..."
"So who's my dad?" Amarande said eagerly.
"... my brother, Electric Lucifer."
"Like everyone says?"
"Yup."
"I KNEW IT! I just knew it! The bastard... so he just abandoned me?"
"Well, not exactly... he didn't know your mother was pregnant. To be blunt, it was a one-nighter and you were an accident."
Amarande appeared heartbroken, and she looked away. "Well... I guess it could always be worse..." she said. She had no idea how wrong she was, as she was working for Ned now.
